In today's lesson, we talked about what we read from the first two chapters of the African American History book. We talked about the difference between Christianity and Islam back in Africa centuries ago. I learned something that I may have overlooked or did not pay attention to. I learned that Christianity had more of a hierarchy and Islam treated people as equals. This is why many Africans became members of this religion other than just doing it because the people they were trading with were.
The thing that I took out of today's summary was that Christain faith and Islamic faith are very much similar but Christains are more individual in thier faith. While with muslims are like a brother hood. But the textual part are very similar and the belief in a higher power. I also liked the comparison of the animals as vehichles that was pretty funny.
We pretty much got a better understanding of the religion and how the africans became apart of the muslum culture. How they just made up stuff to get them to join there culture like god will love you more and all that. How they traded slaves and herbs and who ever had the most was concidered rich.
The History of Africa gives much meaning to why the life of many African Americans today. Christian religion and Muslim religion I've learned is closely related and God and Allah were very similar. The Muslims tried to convert the Africans to their religion since they were also getting something out of it not just a type of faith. Relogion plays a very important role in how everything is managed from family to trading goods and agriculture.

I learned that the christians came into africa and tried to force opinions on the africans. I Leared about religion and jobs in africa and i learned that the "White Man" Didn't come into africa and create slavery.
Today I learned during the class discussion the power of influence. The Africa that was before modernization changed drastically because of the outside influences of modernized countries. We discussed the first two chapters of From Slavery To Freedom. In this discussion we talked in depth about the difference between Islam and Christianity.I learned of the reasoning behind why Africans were easily swayed to the Islamic religion. They were given the opportunity to show off. They had the things they wanted in return for converting to Islam. The more they had the better their countries were economically. Everything was done to better the country. Whether it meant having to get another leader or to convert religions. It was all worth it in the end
