Is a lot of protest surrounding Obama just a racial issue?

Read the following article. First, you have to know about the tax protest tea bag group that formed around April 15. You may need to look this up on your own. Is what former President Carter saying about race and Obama true?

  1. These so-called tea baggers need to stop hating and go somewhere. Hating someone based on their race is outdated as shoulder pads but things from the past always like to come back. What reason do they have to hate the president just because of his race? I think because of his race, some people give him a harder time and expect him to fail. I don't know if Jimmy Carter is right about what he said, but he makes a valid point. Some people don't want to openly be racist because they know they shouldn't yet they do it anyway. These tea baggers may be racist, and if they are they should stop hiding behind anonymity.

  2. When iLooked up April 25th Tea Party it told me it was activists who are committed to effecting positive change in their communities. But in refernce to Barack and Carter saying "Tea Baggers" hate him because he's black is kind of true, because they where so use to white suprimacy and now that it has come to an end they are upset. Carter is stuck in the past and needs to get ova it.

  3. these people are ridicilous if you ask me i just dont understand what the big deal if we had a white president i wouldnt even being doing have of the blogs we do. everyday they have more negative things to say about obama. even the positive things he does they make them negative. protesting is not going to scare this man away as rhwy can tell. so yes i think this does have to do with just being racist and o think alot of people can see it. no matter how hard we try to extinct it. its always going to be around,

  4. I think people need to get used to the president being black because no matter how hard they try to criticize and talk bad about president Obama they wont change his role of being president. Instead by continuing to criticize him because hes black we should try to do everything we can to make his job easier. By criticizing him the media will just make his job even harder and that makes no sense because hes the head of our country. I dont think the criticizing will stop, but when you look at it from another view, if someone like McCain was voted on there would be less criticizing than what obama is going through because he is white and that is what America is used to.

  5. I think that Former President Carter's sayings about President Obama and race are somewhat true. I think if Mccain was president there wouldn't be as much of a big deal being made out of problems. People are mad about more than the government's spending habits and where the money is going. People are mad about te president's race and they're trying to cover it up.

  6. What former President Jimmy Carter has to say about teabaggers and their hatred towards President Obama is believeable. Carter hails from the south in a time where racism was everywhere. He knows from experience the type of lingo and the excuses that are used to try and disguise racism. If John McCain had been elected president than none of these actions would be taking place. The tax dollars and money spent were never a problem when Bush who is a white republican was in office. The black man takes office and everything seems to be a problem. Change is apart of life, if you don't like it find another country. The extremeties that people are going through to see this man struggle is ridiculous. Its like how far have we come to travel backwards in such a manner. Its shameful to all the people who came before us and tried to change what has destroyed a race.President Obama is trying to the best of his abilities. We must remember he is only a figure head in a way. He has advisors and people who watch over certain things. Although he is responsible he may not always know what is going on. Do not just blame him but blame the administration. Then also remember when you cast your ballot you voted for him to run our country for four years. Suck it up and live with what you don't have the power to change.

  8. The Tea Baggers don't like Obama because he's black. Well to me I think that they're just waisting their time. They should be more worried about what he can do for our country as the president and stop worrying about his skin color because chances are the color of his skin won't change. He still has about three more years to go so everyone that hates him they just need to deal with it. There's nothing else they could really do. If anything would happen to him I'm convinced that things will just get worse because people that actually support and believe him will be more than upset and everyone would probably start to rebell against the government but that's just my opinion. Even if Obama wasn't elected president i'm so curious to know what types of things would be said then. What Jimmy Carter is saying about the tea baggers not liking Obama is true and they need to let him do his job as president. They haven't even given him a real chance yet it's only been a year things take time and he doesn't need to worry abut racist people when there's bigger problems to be concerned with.

  9. When I looked up the tea bag protest group, I was truly disgusted by these people! It’s a shame that in today’s world, we still have people as racist as they are. I know for sure that if we had a White President, these problems that we have now would not even exist. People like Joe Wilson and Sarah Palin can’t get over the fact that we have an African-American President, so they do things like this. I definitely believe that what former President Carter is saying about race and Obama is true. There’s no doubt in my mind that the tea baggers ONLY hate Obama because he is Black. There’s no other explanation!

  10. I don't think what former president Jimmy Carter saying is accurate. Given that facts that Jimmy Carter uses, he is a old fashion "Jim Crow law: Southern man. Jimmy Carter and the Tea-Bagger community uses Mr.Obama race as a issues, once you say past Mr.Obama race, that change your point of view about Mr.Obama. In My Opinion, the Tea-bag need to stay out of people personal lives. Taxes help get schools better books and other learning materials. If he would to lower the taxes than the school material would not be so great. I don't think that Mr. Obama is spending money on unusefull things. He is trying to make the economy better with all the stimulus packages and bailout plans. In my opinion it not Mr.Obama fault to start with. The last administration that was in office left a big problem for the next president to solve, that is why there is so much money involved.

  11. I feel that if you can’t successfully change our president’s skin color with his approval, then EVERYBODY needs to accept him. He’s black; yes we all know that now its time to move on. I agree with former President Carter. I believe that the teabaggers hatred towards Obama is races. Were they present for George Bush or any other white president? If they were I think it was because they don’t believe in some principles the president may have, not because the color of their skin. It’s so immature that we judge people depending on the color of their skin. I feel that more people like Mr. Carte should take a stand and voice their opinion like he did. Stop expecting our president to fail, but give him a chance and help him make the United States a better place. Don’t be apart of the problem, but help to solve the solution.
